'Ibe subject letter was
'sutaitted pursuant to the re;uitenents of your February 11, 1983 letter requiring GPC to subnit its plans for modification or inspection three (3) months prior to the start of the outage. Our May 31 subnittal also provided our justification for the adaluacy of weld overlays for a second cycle of operation.
'Ib date, GPC has not received any notification of approval of our inspection plans nor have we received any notification regarding the issuance of a safety evaluation report (SER) allowing use of the weld overlays for a second cycle of operation.
Please advise us of the status of the approval of our inspection plans and issuance of an SER for a second cycle of operation with weld overlays.
GPC wishes to advise NPC that the Hatch Unit 1 maintenance / refueling outage is tentatively scheduled to begin on or about September 29, 1984.
Any questions that NRC may have regarding the proposed inspection progran and justification for continued use of the weld overlays should be brought to our innediate attention.
'Ihe staffs of GPC and its consultants are available for additional discussion should NRC so desire.
