Docket Nos: 50-247-SP 50-286-SP RE:

Limited Appearance Hearings in New York City

Dear Administrative Judges:

This letter is to urge the Board to reconsider its decision that no Limited Appearance Hearings will be scheduled for New York City the week of March 1-4.

The arrangement that Limited Appearance Statements will be heard only if and when time permits during the 4 days currently scheduled for witnesses proferred by the New York City Council members will not be adequate to accom%date the number of people in the New York City area who have already indicated their desiretto make Limited Appearances.

People from New York City, Lor; Island, and New ' Jersey have l

called NYPIRG for information about Limited Appearance Statements. Under the impression that an opportunity would be provided in New York City, NYPIRG I

staff members informed these callers that it would not be necessary for them to travel to Westchester County, and more recently we informed them of the location of the hearings in New York City.

If it is burdensome for the entire Board to hear Limited Appearance Statements in New York City, perhaps one Administrative Judge could sit during an evening or Saturday session. Many people will be disappointed if arrangements are not made to hear their concerns.
