It is implemented by one of the following:

A.

Design Change Package, (DCP) - A change which involves the addition, deletion, or functional design modification of any component, system or structure, where the design basis is changed. The DCP also may be used to make design changes when design basis is not changed. Design Changes are initiated through the Plant Change-Request (PCR) program and include

(.

but are not limited to, the following:

(

Replacement of components or parts with items whose design characteristics are not engineering equivalents Tf~eQD(mot;nieep the form, fit and I function) of the original items.

Changes to environmental and seismic qualification requirem'ents, or changes to stress, thermal, hydraulic, or radi7ation analyses of structures, systems or components.

Changes to drawings due to discrepancies found between the drawings and the facility as constructed.

Changes in the purpose and/or application of a structure, system or component which modify the parameters under which it was intended to perform its function, even though such changes require no physical work.

B.

Site Modification - A plant change requ' iring limited engineering and planning, which does not change the design basis without prior Engineering approval, and which is also small and noncomplex, having a total installed cost of less than $100,000 per unit.

does modify the functional operation of any component, system, or structure and does require an engineering evaluation to verify that the change will-not change the design bases of the facility. Changes in this category are initiated through an identified Nonconforming Condition (EER/NC) or an EER documenting a design deviation (for non quality-related equipment).

3.1.5 Accept-As-Is - A disposition which may be imposed for a Nonconformance Condition or Design Deviation when it

!=

established that the discropancy will result la no adverse conditions and that the item under consideration will continue to meet all engineering functional requirements even though the item does not conform to the original Design Requirement including performance, maintainability, fit, and safety.

The component, system, structure must still be verified to meet the original design basis.

NOTE The difference between a repair and an

(

Accept-As-Is disposition is that Repair

(

specifies that a change can be made and Accept-As-Is authorines a change already known to exist.

In all cases, both allow deviation from the Design Requirement and must verify that the original design basis is maintained.

3.1.6 Repair - The process of restoring a Nonconformance Condition or Design Deviation to a'cond'ition such that of an item to function reliably and safety dethe capability unimpaired, even though that item may not conform to the original Design requirement.

The component, system, structure must still be verified to meet the original design basis.
