Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station (PVNGS) 10CFR 2.206 Petition regarding Alleged Inadequacies in Emergency Lighting and Fire Protection at Palo Verde File No. 90-005-419.8; 90-056-026 This letter requests information related to the May 22,1990,10CFR 2.206 pet on behalf of an Arizona Public Service (APS) employee alleging inadequacies i alluded to in the patition, APS first sought to discuss This the the safety :ignificance of the charges set forth in the petition. r Since my concerns arrival through at Palo Verde, I have attempted to encourage their management. employ If for any reason an employee feels this cannot be done, APS has established an extensive Employee Concerns Program as ari means of raising safety concerns outside the management chain. Of course, e advised of the right to go directly to the NRC. Ultimately, however, APS responsibility for assuring the safety of operations at Palo Verde.

Accordingly, this is to request that all allegations related to the safety of the Pa Nuclear Generating Station of which NRC may be aware, regardless of sourc relationship to the pending petition, be furnished to APS for prompt investigatio disposition. We recognize that NRC may have to redact certain allegations or o paraphrase going' concerns to protect the identity of the informant (s) and not jeopard investigations.
