i' ENCLOSURE i
Facility Status Trojan This system has been installed and was tested on August 22, 1981.
The test identified some problems.
By letter dated December 3,1981, PGE reported to the FEMA Region X Director that all of the problems had been corrected except for two cam motors which have been ordered from the siren manufacturer.
PGE i.
is. still.; reviewing. the. tes-t..results including.the areas of possible poor, siren coverage.
FEMA Region X f..
representatives observed the System test and believe J
it meets the requirements of Appendix 3 of NUREG-0654/ FEMA REP 1. Rev. 1.
Administrative procedures have been implemented to actuate the system promptly.
San Onofre The system has been installed and is operational.
The testing of the system has been scheduled for January 25-27, 1982. The licensee nas requested that FEMA Region IX observe the testing. Administrative procedures have been implemented to actuate the system promptly.
Rancho Seco The system is not expected to be operational until May 1982. The SMUD Boarc' approved the equipment contract at its December 17, 1981 meeting. The l
contract final delivery date is March 25, 1982.
Installation is expected during.the period February-April and testing is expected during April and May.
Administrative procedures to actuate the system promptly do not presently exist because tne three county emergency plans have not been approved by the respective Boards of Supervisors.
SMUD is presently preparing a request for an exemption from tne February 1, l
1982 date.
Diablo Canyon The primary system has been installed except for the final two sirens. The complete system is expected to be operational by February 1,1982. San Luis Obispo County has restricted the testing of the system to the months of August and September unless there is a specific request by the federal government.
The testing will take place in 1982 and will be coordinated with FEMA Region IX. The County implementing procedure may not result in prompt j
actuation of the system (this was a significant finding in the Emergency Planning Appraisal).
