SKAGIT SITING REVIEW Attached for your information as Enclosure 1 is a copy of a trip report prepared by Jan Norris on a recent trip to Washington and Oregon to contact the applicant, Puget Sound Pow'er and Light, and Federal and State agencies that will be involved in review of the new site on the Hanford Reservation.
In summary, from an environmental viewpoint there appears to be no unusual obstacles to prompt review of the new site, and the State of Washington, Energy Facility Siting Council is anxious to cooperate with NRC in develop-ment of cooperative arrangements, such as conduct of joint scoping meetings and joint hearings.
On the other hand, the Gable Mountain _ fault and associated nearby structure could result in delay. provides a summary of the status of our knowledge of the Gable Mountain fault.
