Dear Mr. Stolz:
On December 8, 1981 a meeting was held between your staff, Toledo Edison and consultants concerning Anticipatory Reactor Trip System (ARTS).
During the meetings, several questions were raised about the ARTS system as it pertains to Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station Unit No. 1.
The following are Toledo Edison's response to the questions:
Question 1:
Will the' proposed channel functional test include the pressure switch?
Response
The proposed channel functional test will include the pressure switch.
Question 2:
When the power level bypass clears, what indication is provided?
Response
When the power level bypass clears, the local light indicating bypass is also clear. Additionally, the computer will have an alarm when the power level bypass is operative. This will clear when the power level is above the bypass value, Question 3:
Are the spare block switches connected?
Response
In Figure'1, the spare blocks indicated in sections H-5 and G-2 as well as the-remote block of section G-5 are not wired in this design and, therefore, not functional.
