NRC HEARING ON EMERGENCY PLANNING FOR SHOREHAM NUCLEAR PLANT TO START DECEMBER 6 IN HAUPPAUGE, NY l

The Atomic Safety and Licensing Board which will conduct a hearing on emergency planning issues in the operating license proceeding for Long Island Lighting Company's Shoreham Nuclear Power Station has scheduled the hearing to begin December 6 in Hauppauge, New York.

This session of hearing will begin on Tuesday, December 6, 1

at 9:00 a.m. in the Auditorium Suffolk County Legislative l

Building, County Center Veterans Memorial Highway Hauppauge, It will continue at that location through Friday, December 9.

j The hearing will reconvene at 10:30 a.m. on Monilay, December 12 in the Riverhead Legislative Meeting Room. Office of County Legislature, County Center, Riverhead and will adjourn on. Friday, December 16.

On Tuesday, January 3, 1984, t

the hearing will reconvene at the Hauppauge location.

The Licensing Board consists of the following Adminis-trative Judges from NRC's Atomic Safety and Licensing Board Panel (ASLBP):

James A. Laurenson, a lawyer who is Chairman of the Board; Dr. Jerry Kline, an environmental scientist, and Frederick J. Shon, a nuclear engineer.

All are full time members of the ASLBP.
