Enclosed for your information is an announcement that the Nuclear Regulatory Commission said 'today it will consider written comments from the public and from parties to a separate Special Proceeding in determining whether the two nuclear power plants at Indian Point in New York State should be shut down because of emergency planning deficiencies.

We plan to mail this information to the news media today, May 13, 1983.
