',#7 Beaver Valley Power Station, EPP Implementation Procedures Gentlemen:

In accordance with NUREG-0654, Duquesne Light Company is working on the installation of redundant instrumentation and power supply for the existing meteorological system. The purpose at the installation is to provide a readily availabic dual source of meteorological data to which the plant can access during calibration periods or during periods when the primary meteorological system is unavailable. We will, however, be unable to complete the redundant meteorological data system installation in the third quarter 1981 as stated in Duquesne Light Company letter dated March 18, 1981, and as required by NUREG-0654,1ppendix 2, Milestone (3) April 1,1981. The reason is due to delays of vendor supplied data on purchased equipment which postponed Duquesne Light Company draf ting and the late delivery of the redundant power supply equipment. Currently, the Duquesne Light Company drafting is 857.

complete, all major equipment and components are at de plant site and construction t

is in progress six days per week.

The schedule for the redundant meteorological instrumentation and power supply has been revised and is expected to be complete and in operation by January 15, 1982, provided that unforseen construction problems do not develop due to unusual inclement weather conditions.

Duquesne Light Company will continue to follow the requirements of the compensating actions delineated in NUREG-0654 Annex 1 to Appendix 2 until the above referenced system is operational.

If you have any questions regarding this response, please contact me at my office.
