DPR-53 EVENT DATE 02-13-81 REPORT DATE 03-13-81 ATTACHMENT EVENT DESCRIPTION AND PROBABLE CONSEOUENCES At 1013 during normal operation, while shif ting from one to two running charging pumps, letdown relief valve CVC-345-RV lif ted and feiled to reseat. (TS. 6.9.1.9.d). The Operator shut letdown isolation valves CVC-515-CV and CVC-516-CV to isolate the relief valve. Reactor coolant inventory was maintained manually by intermittent use of the charging pumps. After the pressure decreased to O psig in the letdown line, CVC-345-RV closed. The chemical and volume control system was restored to normal operation at 1145. The health' and safety of the public was not affected. This is not a repetitive occurence.
