NARRATIVE

REPORT

' Georgia Power Company Plant E. 1. llatch Bax1cy,, Georgia 31513 Reportable Occurrence Report No. 50-321/1980-019.

With' the reactor in the run mode at 2223 MWt power and while performing HNP-1-3414, RCIC Turbine Exhaust Diaphragm Functional Test and Calibration, instruments '1E51-N012B and IE51-N012C, Turbine Exhaust Diaphragm Pressure Switches, were found to be out of. Tech Spec limits. The switches were found at 12 psig increasing and 11 psig increasing respectively.

Expected setpoint is 8 psig Il increasing. Acceptance criteria is 5 10 psig increasing.

The cause of this occurrence has been attributed to instrument-drift. The

- instruments were recalibrated per HNP-1-5279, Barksdale Pressure Switch Calibration, and returncd to service.

Surveillance procedure HNP-1-3414,

' RCIC Turbine Exhaust Diaphragm Functional Test and Calibration, was performed again and was acceptable. This is a repetitive occurrence per LER 50-321/1978-096; however, this is not a generic problem.

The operation of the plant was not affected. There were no effects upon public health and safety due to this event.
