In order to increase the tire available I g l for operator action, a design change to provide an additional source of water 'to the I m I service water pumps under the postulated accident condition is being imolemented. Thisl g g design change will add a service water supply line with necessary valves, control logic,1 ii g , ; etc. from the service water / pond recirculation line to the service water wet' pit. I

indicates that the operator would have approximately 20 minutes available to take action to balance service water flow with river water flow if both units were-operating and.the postulated accident condition occurred.

This report is being submitted in accordance with Unit 1 Technical Specifi-cation 6.9.1.8.1 and Unit 2 Technical Specification 6.9.1.12.1.

The health and safety. of the public have not been affected by this occurrence.

4 CAUSE DESCRIPTION AND CORRECTIVE ACTIONS (Continued)

The design change will be implemented by mid-May, 1981.
