6 SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION Report No.: 50-302/80-032/03L-0 Facility: Crystal River Unit #3 Report Date: 28 August 1980 Occurrence Date: 5 August 1980 Identification of Occurrence: Failure to have the required number of A.C. electrical power supplies operable contrary to Technical Specifi-cation 3.8.1.1. Conditions Prior to Occurrence: Mode 3 Hot Standby nascription of Occurrence: At 1840 while performing PT-106, Special Load Test of Emergency Diesel Generator "A", the generator tripped when the ES Bus was loaded by starting fans AHF-18 and AH F-19. The trip resulted from actuation of a field over-current relay. Redundancy was maintained by the remaining diesel generator and two physically indepen-dent off-site circuits. Designation of Apparent Cuase: The apparent cause of this event was that the setpoint of a field over-current relay was out of tolerance. The pick-up voltage was found to be below the design setpoint. Analysis of Occurrence: There was no effect upon the general public health or safety.

Corrective Action

The relay was adjusted to the proper pick-up voltage. EDG-1B field over-current relay setpoint has been verified. A surveillance progran is under development for implementation within six months. The program will include periodic examination of the field over-current relay. Failure Data: This is the first event of this type and the nineteenth report under this specification. }}
