NOTICE OF DEVIATION Based on the results of an NP.C inspection conducted during the periods August 2-5 and August 22-23, 1977, it appears that certain of your activities were not conducted in conformance with an approved industry standard as indicated below:
The National Fire Code, NFPA-80 (Fire Doors and Windows),1975, Chapter 2, Section 2-8.7.1, states in part, "The door shall swing easily and freely and shall be equipped with a self closing device to cause the door to close and latch each time it is opened."
In deviation from the above:
It was noted that certain of the fire doors were tied open, propped open or had wiring passing thru them in such a manner as to prevent the closing device from closing and latching the door as required.
