License No. 50P-1585-4 This refers to the inspection conducted on March 3-21, 1980 by representatives of the NRC Region I (Philadelphia) office at the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station, Boston Edison Company, Plymouth, Massachusetts, of activities authorized by NRC License No. DPR-35.
Based on the results of this inspection, it appears that one of your activities was not conducted in full compliance with the requirements of your -Senior Operator License No. SOP-1585-4 as set forth in the Notice of Violation, enclosed herewith as Appendix A.
This item of noncompliance has been categorized into the levels as described in the enclosed Appendix B dated Decemoer 31, 1974.
This notice is sent to you, pursuant to the provisions of Section 2.201 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice,"
Part 2, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations.
Section 2.201 requires you to submit to this sffice within twenty-five (25) days of the date of this notice, a written state ent in reply including admission or denial of the item of ncacompliance ar I if admitted, the reasons for the item of noncompliance and any corrective action which has been or will be taken to avoid further items of noncompliance and whm such action will be completed.
Enforcement action is also being taken against your employer.
Copies of the correspondence relating to that action will be forwarded to you under separate cover.
A copy of this letter and the enclosed Notice of Violation is being transmitted to your employer, Boston Edison Compnay, holder of NRC License No. DPR-35.
In accordance with Section 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2, Title 10,- Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter and your reply will be placed in the NRC's Public Document Room.
