NARRATIVE

REPORT Georgia Power Company Plant E. I. Ilatch Baxley, Georgia 31513 Reportable Occurrence Report No. 50-321/1980-073 While operations was making shift check of recorders in the control room, the drywell to torus temperature recorder 1T47-R612, was discovered to be not stamping or changing positions.

Operations determined that drywell to torus temperature recorder, IT47-R612, had malfunctioned.

This occurred while the reactor was at 100t steady state in power.

Operation of the plant was not affected and there was no effect on the environs.

This is a re-petitive event as last reported on Reportable Occurrence Report 50-321/1980-071.

The cause of the event has been attributed to the failure of stepping ad-vance and chart drive motor.

Drywell to torus temperature recorder, 1T47-RG12, was repaired and returned to service satisfactorily.

Only Unit I utilizes this type recorder, Taylor 2142J Strip Chart Recorder.

The generic review revealed no inherent problems.
