POWER AUTHORITY OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK JAMES A. FITZPATRICK NUCLEAR POWER PLANT DOCKET NO. 50-333 ATTACHMENT TO LER 80-001/03L-0 Page 1 of 1 During normal operations, while conducting Operating Surveillance Tes t F-ST-5B ti tled "APRM Ins trument Functional Test", to meet the requirements of Technical Speci fications Appendix A, Table 4.1-1, APRM "E" downscale trip was found set at 2.0/125 compared to a Technical Speci fication limit of equal to or greater than 2.5/125.

Technical Speci fication Table 3.1-1 requi res that two of the three APRM's in each trip system be operable.

Since the remaining five APRM channels were functioning normally this requirement was met.

The re fo re, the event did not represent any significant hazard to the public health and safety.

Following recalibration to correct the instrument dri f t, the instrument was demonstrated operable by the successful completion o f F-S T-5 B.
