Beaver Valley Power Station, Unit No. 1 Docket No. 50-334, Li:ense No. DPR-66 TMI Lessons Learned Short Term (Catc,,)ry A) Recommendations
Dear Sir:
We have reviewed your request of December 13, 1979 regarding a commitment for Beaver Valley Power Station Unit No. 1 to implement the TMI Lessons Learned Category A requirements by January 1, 1980.
As indicated in our previous letter to Mr. Denton and also discussed in a conference call held on November 16, 1979 with members of the NRC staff and members of the Duquesne Light Company, it was intended to start an extended refueling outage at Beaver Valley Unit No. 1 on December 1,1979. This shutdown was accomplished on November 30, 1979 and the Station is currently in cold shutdown (Mode 5 Operation) with a projected startup to occur in mid 1980.
As indicated in our previous correspondence, Duquesne Light Company intends to implement the short term TMI Lessons Learned recommendations during the current Station outage.
If difficulties or specific problems in this implemen-tation are encountered, the NRC will be notified promptly.
If you have any questions concerning this response, please notify my office.
Very truly yours, C. N. Dunn Vice President, Operations Ao37 5
