SALEM GENERATING STATION MONTHLY OPERATING

SUMMARY

- UNIT 2 OCTOBER 1993 SALEM UNIT NO. 2 The Unit began the period operating at full power and continued to operate at full power until October 5, 1993, when power was reduced to 70% to support design modifications in the 500KV switchyard. The unit was restored to 90% power on October 8, 1993, and continued to operate at that level until October 12, 1993, when it was removed from service to clean up the secondary system due to a chemistry excursion which had occurred after #23 heater drain pump was replaced and returned to service. The Unit was returned to service on October 13, 1993, and commenced a power escalation. The Unit was held at approximately 65%

power from October 14-19, 1993, for a station power transformer outage. These activities were completed and the Unit returned to 100%

power on October 19, 1993. The Unit continued to operate at essentially full power throughout the remainder of the period.
