~O2 During a desi n review for Unit 2. it was determined that the tie line between the Unit 2 Condensate Stora e Tank CST and the Unit 1 AFH system did not meet the intent of the desi n. Ten feet of pipe is not tornado protected, and the pipe is connected to the Unit 1 CST above the safety related volume instead of to the AFW pump suction line. The tie line had not been tested and placed in service and Unit 1'safety was not compromised. This is 1st LER of this type.

CST will be laced into service to rovide backu water to the Unit 1'.

AFW system as stated in....the Unit 1 SER and FSAR. The design of the entire tie line will be reviewed to ensure .there are no further problems.
