SPENT FUEL STORAGE POOL Answer guestion 7, part 3 of the July 16, 1987 RAI, especially related to the safety factors.
V Provide the results of the failure of the temporary crane's
- hook, assuming that it is lifting the heaviest rack at the maximum carrying height.
3.
Provide the stress levels in the temporary crane when the heaviest rack is dropped onto it from the maximum carrying height associated with the cask handling crane.
(If the cask handling crane is single-failure proof, then dropped means the maximum possible lowering velocity associated with the cask handling crane).
4.
Does Figure 1 (September 8,
1987 submittal) represent the locations occupied by the spent fuel before the temporary cr ane is installed?
5.
Provide the results of a light load drop analysis which includes a list of the objects considered, their weight and their maximum carrying height as well as the same information related to the referenced load.
As an alter-native, provide a discussion of the effects of having the new racks on a
previously-approved light load drop analysis.
