Re:

Dresden Nuclear Power Station, Unit Nos. 2 and 3 By letter dated August 10, 1984 and March 1, 1985 you provided inforwation regarding Section III.G and III.L of Appendix R.

In these sublltttals, you stated that a reverification of COllPliance with Appendix R require111nts at Dresden, which was required based on your review of our Generic Letter 83-33 dated October 19, 1983 has been C011Pleted.

In your subllittals, you presented findings which included 1) revised alternate shutdown peths based on their zonal 1nteraction analysis 2) the current status of already ca111itted llOdif1ca-t1ons 3) newly proposed modifications with the schedules for thetr cQ11pletion, and 4) interim COllpensatory.. 1sures for applicable mocttftcattons until thetr completion.

By letter dlted July 1, 1985, we 1denttfted the need for additional infol"llltion 1n the ar"91 of assoctatec:I circutts concerns such as electrical tsolation deficiency, ftre-tnduced spurtous operations, 1nd htgh fllpedance faults.

By letters dated August 9, 1985, January 9, 1986 and May 30, 1986 you provided the requested tnfor111tion. Also, by letter dated September 18, 1985, you subllttted Revision 1 to your August 10, 1984 sublltttal.

As stated tn Ute Staff Safety Evaluation (Enclosure 1), we conclude that your currently proposed revtston to the a 1 ternate shutdown capebtl tty for Dresden Units 2 and 3 s1ttsftes the requtre111nt of Appendix R, ItlllS III.6.3 and III.L.
