COMMONWEALTH EDISON PROPOSAL FOR UPDATED FINAL SAFETY ANALYSIS REPORT REVISION SUBMITTAL FREQUENCY (TAC NOS. M86432, M86457, M86458, M86459, M86460, M86461, M86462, M86463, M86464, M86465, M86466, AND M86467)
In response to a Federal Government initiative to reduce unnecessary burden of governmental regulation, the NRC, in addition to other actions, revised 10 CFR 50.71(e)(4).
This revision, effective October 1, 1992, provided for an extended interval between updates of licensee FSARs.
The revision to 10 CFR 50.7l(e)(4), did not specifically address the appropriate submittal schedule for multiple facilities sharing a common FSAR.
However, the statement of consideration for the revision, published in the Federal Register on August 31, 1992, stated:
With respect to the... concern about multiple facilities sharing a ccimmon FSAR, licensees will have maximum flexibility for scheduling updates on a case-by-case basis. This final rule does not address multiple facilities.
By letter dated May 4, 1993, you submitted a proposed Updated Final Safety Analysis Report (UFSAR) revision submittal policy for Braidwood, Byron, Dresden, LaSalle, Quad Cities, and Zion stations.
Your proposal addresses the
