In Reference 1, the staff cited in a Notice of Violation a violation of very low safety significance (Green) related to the timely update of initial and prompt operability determinations when new information is received.

Reference 2, Attachment 2, provided a comprehensive and integrated ASR corrective action plan for resolving ASR-induced non-conformances with the current licensing basis. Based on the complexity of performing the building susceptibility evaluations and the current Staff schedule for review of LAR 16-03 (Reference 3) actions related to these items will require more time than initially expected.

Attached is the corrective action plan with revised completion dates for items 4 and 5. If there are any questions regarding this letter, please contact Mr. Kenneth Browne, Licensing Manager, at (603) 773-7932.

Attachment to SBK-L-17101 SBK-L-17101 Attachment Page 1 of 1 A comprehensive and integrated ASR corrective action plan for resolving ASR induced non-conformances with the current licensing basis and the date when the structures monitoring program will be revised to monitor the progression of ASR degradation related to bulk expansion and deformation:

1. Submit a License Amendment Request to reconcile current licensing basis to address ASR impacts on structures inclusive of a methodology change for evaluating structural deformation of Seismic Category 1 structures. Complete
2. Revise ASR Structures Monitoring Program to include ASR induced deformation effects monitoring and methodology. Complete
3. Conduct Core Bore Sampling and Installation of extensometers to monitor out of plane expansion in various plant locations to be representative of plant structures conditions and to allow monitoring of levels of ASR. Complete
4. Perform Susceptibility Evaluations on all Seismic Category 1 structures in a risk ranked progression order. Due Date: June 30, 2018
5. Complete Final Detailed Analysis Calculations of record for all Required Structures for ACI Code 318-71 Compliance. Due Date: August 31, 2018 Note: As shown in reference 3 the staff has projected a twenty two month review schedule for LAR 16-03. The final calculation of record is dependent on the completion of this review and acceptance of the proposed methodology change.
