Oconee Nuclear Station Unit 3 Docket No. 50-287.
Dear Sir:
Pursuant to.10 CFR 50, 950.90, please find attached proposed changes to the Oconee Nuclear Station (ONS) Technical Specifications which are required to support the operation of Oconee Unit 3 at full rated power during Cycle 7. This submittal includes minor revisions to the reload results provided in our May 3, 1982 submittal. As indicated in the May 3, 1982 letter, Oconee Unit 3 was shut down to begin the refueling cycle 17 EFPD short of the Cycle 7 window as included in that report; thus, a reanalysis was required.
Startup testing of Oconee Unit 3, Cycle 7 will be performed in accordance with the report entitled, "Oconee Nuclear Station Generic Startup Physics Test Program",
initially approved by NRC letter dated March 23, 1981 and as modified by Duke letter dated May 29, 1981. The current schedule at Oconee is dictated by the repairs to the Auxiliary Feedwater Headers, but a review and response by Septem ber 27, 1982 is requested to ensure the unit can be restarted when the repairs are complete.
This proposed license amendment concerning the reload design.calculations for Oconee 3, Cycle 7 was conducted consistent with Duke Technical Report NFS-1001, "Oconee Nuclear Station Reload Design Methodology" which was reviewed and accepted by the Staff in a letter dated July 29, 1981. This submittal provides minor revisions to our May 3, 1982 submittal and thus, no additional fees are necessary.
