Simulated Performance: Actual Performance: X Classroom Simulator X Plant READ TO THE EXAMINEE I will explain the initial conditions, which steps to simulate or discuss, and provide initiating cues. When you complete the task successfully, the objective for this Job Performance Measure will be satisfied.

Provide Candidate with Initial Conditions/Cue (Last Page of this JPM), and Handout , of AP/1/A/5500/14 marked up for place-keeping through Step 16.

Initial Conditions: Due to a plant transient, Control Rod M-4 is misaligned from its bank by 24 steps.

Unit 1 has been stabilized at 45% power for the past 16 hours1.851852e-4 days
0.00444 hours
2.645503e-5 weeks
6.088e-6 months
.

The crew entered AP/1/A/5500/14 (Rod Control Malfunction), and completed Enclosure 1 (Response to Dropped or Misaligned Rod) through Step 16.

IAE and RE has determined that rod realignment is permissible by moving the misaligned rod inward.

Initiating Cue: The CRS has directed you to realign Control Rod M-4 with Bank D by performing Enclosure 1 (Response to Dropped or Misaligned Rod), of AP/1/A/5500/14 (Rod Control Malfunction) starting at Step 17.

IAE is standing by to assist in the realignment.

Task Standard: The operator will correct the misalignment of Control Rod M-4 by performing Steps 17-22 and 45.a of Enclosure 1 (Response to Dropped or Misaligned Rod), of AP/1/A/5500/14 (Rod Control Malfunction).

While attempting to open 2NV-265B (Boric Acid To NV Pumps), the RO discovered that 2NV-265B was de-energized.

Initiating Cue: The CRS has directed you to emergency borate the NC System by performing Step 12.d RNO of AP/2/A/5500/38 (Emergency Boration and Response to Inadvertent Dilution).

Task Standard: 2NV-269 is located and manually opened (simulated) within ten (10) minutes.

Required Materials: PPE (Hardhat, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Safety Shoes etc.)

Time Critical Task: YES - The operators will stop dilution and initiate boration within 15 minutes in Mode 1 and 2, which may involve time critical local actions to open NV-265 or NV-269 (10 minutes from dispatch).

UFSAR 15.4.6 states that "there is adequate time available (at least 15 minutes) after a reactor trip for the operator to determine the cause of the dilution, isolate the primary grade water sources and initiate reboration before the reactor can return to criticality".

To meet the 15 minute time assumed in the UFSAR, PT/0/A/4600/113 (Operator Time Critical Task Verification), Enclosure 13.4 (Stop Dilution and Borate During a Dilution Event), Rev 17 is performed and assumed that it takes 5 minutes to dispatch the operator and 10 minutes to perform the actions.

Validation Time: 8 minutes Notes: Start this JPM from the hallway outside of the Ops kitchen area.

Record the Time Critical Completion Time (in JPM step number 2) when 2NV-269 is open (Simulated).
