2012 D. C. COOK NUCLEAR PLANT INITAL LICENSE EXAMINATION MISCELLANEOUS CORRESPONDENCE

SUBJECT:
CONFIRMATION OF INITIAL OPERATOR LICENSE EXAMINATIONS:
D. C. COOK NUCLEAR POWER PLANT, UNITS 1 AND 2
Dear Mr. Weber:
We have received your letter AEP-NRC-201 0-66. In that letter, you stated the initial operator licensing examinations were previously scheduled for July 23,2012, and July 21,2014, and July 18, 2016.
In response, we concur with the above dates for initial operator licensing examinations at D. C. Cook Nuclear Power Plant. There are no changes to the existing schedule for these examinations. On-site validation of these examinations is tentatively scheduled to occur approximately three weeks before the examination week. In the unlikely event that we are unable to support the examination during the scheduled weeks, we will inform you immediately upon discovery of such conditions and make arrangements to administer the examination at a mutually acceptable date.
We understand that your staff will develop the examinations unless we determine it is necessary for the NRC to develop an examination in which case, we will notify you immediately upon discovery of that need. Because your letter indicated that there were more than nine applicants being considered for each of these examinations, the examinations were each scheduled for two weeks. Please inform us if the number of candidates decline below ten for any examination as this will impact the examination schedule. Also, please inform us at your earliest opportunity if you discover you need to change the scheduled dates for the examinations.
A supplementary letter will be sent to the training department approximately 120 days prior to the examination informing the training manager of the chief examiner's name. The letter will also outline examination security expectations, list the materials required by the NRC to conduct the examination, reconfirm the examination date, and reconfirm the number of candidates you have in the training program.

Weber -2 In accordance with 10 CFR 2.930 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publically Available Records System (PARS) component of NRC's Agencywide Document Access and Management System (ADAMS), accessible from the NRC Web site at http://ww.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html(the Public Electronic Reading Room).

Dear Mr. Rencheck:
In response to your letter dated August 28, 2008, (Voluntary Response to NRC RIS 2008-16),
initial license operator examinations were scheduled to start during the weeks of June 7,2010, July 23,2012, and July 21,2014. On-site validation of the examinations will occur approximately three weeks prior to the examination start week. In the unlikely event that we are unable to support the examinations during the scheduled weeks, we will inform you immediately upon discovery of such conditions and make arrangements to administer the examination at a mutually acceptable date.

A supplementary letter will be sent to the training department approximately 120 days prior to each examination informing the training manager of the chief examiner'S name. The letter will also outline examination security expectations, list the materials required by the NRC to conduct the examination, reconfirm the examination dates, and reconfirm the number of candidates you have in the training program.
We have scheduled a Licensed Operator Requalification Training Program Inspection (lP 71111.11) for the week of March 8, 2010.
