Dear Sirs:

Subject:

Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station (PVNGS)

Units 1, 2, and 3 Docket Nos. STN 50-528, 50-529, and 50-530 Request for Revision of the PVNGS Cyber Security Plan Implementation Schedule Pursuant to 10 CFR 50.90, Arizona Public Service Company (APS) hereby requests approval for a revision to the PVNGS Cyber Security Plan (CSP) Implementation Schedule. In a letter dated July 26, 2011, the NRC approved the PVNGS CSP and enclosed Implementation Schedule (ADAMS Accession No. ML111710110) and required that APS submit any subsequent changes to the Implementation Schedule for approval in accordance with 10 CFR 50.90.

Accordingly, APS is requesting a revision to the description and basis for Milestones 6 and 7. The requested revision effectively separates the completion date of the operational and management cyber security controls from that of technical controls for the physical security target set Critical Digital Assets (CDAs). With approval, APS will implement the operational and management cyber security controls as part of the full cyber security program implementation, which is due by September 30, 2017.

Enclosure I of this request contains an evaluation of the proposed change. Enclosure 2 of this request contains the proposed revision to the PVNGS CSP Implementation Schedule.

Approval of the proposed revision is requested by December 1, 2012. Once approved, the CSP Implementation Schedule revision will be implemented within 60 days. No commitments are being made to the NRC by this letter.
