U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Page 2 March 30, 2012 On March 12, 2012, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued a Request for Information letter (RFI) to all power reactor licensees and holders of construction permits in active or deferred status, including TVA. The NRC RFI requests information to support-the evaluation of NRC Staff recommendations for the Near-Term Task Force (NTTF) review of the accident at the Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear facility.

The NRC requires the requested information to verify compliance with a plant's design basis and to determine whether additional regulatory actions are appropriate. The enclosures to the RFI contain topic-specific information requests and schedules for providing responses. In addition, the RFI requires applicable licensees to confirm receipt of the letter within 30 days.

Accordingly, by this letter, TVA hereby confirms receipt of the March 12, 2012, NRC RFI. Other information will be submitted consistent with the appropriate RFI schedule.

There are no regulatory commitments contained in this letter.

If there are any questions concerning this letter, then please contact Fredrick Mashburn (423)751-8817.

I declare under penalty of perjury that the foregoing is true and correct. Executed on the 30th day of March 2012.
