Flat Panel Display System (FPDS).

a,c 1.2 SCOPE This document applies only to the implementation of the Watts Bar 2 PAMS FPDS application software and associated system data configuration databases.

The implementation of the Watts Bar 2 PAMS FPDS application software involves both the programming of software source code and the configuration of display components and databases.

Nuclear Automation Software Design Description for the Post Accident Watts Bar Unit 2 NSSS Completion Program I&C Projects Monitoring System Flat Panel Display SECTION 2 GENERAL DESCRIPTION 2.1 GENERAL DESCRIPTION The Watts Bar 2 Common Q PAMS FPDS is a Class IE safety system for monitoring and alarming the reactor vessel level, saturation margin, and core exit thermocouples.

Each Watts Bar 2 Common Q PAMS FPDS consists of an industrial computer referred to as a node box and a flat panel display (FPD). Consistent with the usage in the referenced Common Q software descriptions, the node box and FPD are together referred to as the FPD system, or FPDS.

The Watts Bar 2 Common Q PAMS system consists of two independent trains, A and B, each consisting of an Advant Controller 160 (AC 160), an Operator's Module (OM) FPDS, and a Maintenance and Test Panel (MTP) FPDS.

The FPDS is described in detail in WCAP-16097-P, "Common Qualified Platform Topical Report" (Reference 7). A Watts Bar 2 PAMS FPDS-specific application software package resides on each of the node boxes. Programs in the software package generate and update the displays on the flat panel, process system data, and respond to operator actions. Each Watts Bar 2 PAMS FPDS node box is attached to the AC 160 via an Advant Fieldbus 100 (AF 100) network. In addition, the MTP node box in each train is connected to the non-safety plant computer by way of an Ethernet link.

2.2 GENERAL PURPOSE The Watts Bar 2 Common Q PAMS FPDS provides the primary human interface for the Watts Bar 2 PAMS reactor vessel level indication, saturation margin, and core exit thermocouples monitoring. The users interact with the Watts Bar 2 PAMS FPDS via the touch screen to select display pages for viewing, acknowledging alarms, bypassing variables, setting constants, performing surveillance testing, and for maintenance of the Common Q Watts Bar 2 PAMS.

Additionally, the MTP in each train transmits data to the non-safety plant computer via a transmission control protocol/internet protocol (TCP/IP) Ethernet interface.

pac 2.3 FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION 2.3.1 Software Overview The Watts Bar 2 PAMS FPDS application software is programmed in C-language and executes on the QNX operating system. The software is composed of standard QNX Photon display components and software procedures; generic Common Q FPD display components, software procedures, and programs; and additional application software components that are implemented as needed to provide the specific capabilities of the Watts Bar 2 PAMS FPDS.

The cormnercial PhAB product is discussed in 00000-ICE-3239, "Software Requirements Specification for the Common Q Generic Flat-Panel Display Software" (Reference 10). Callback procedures are typically invoked by graphical display components to perform a specific task or tasks when triggered, for example, to initialize a display when it is first selected. The other software components described in this document execute as stand-alone programs in the QNX runtime environment, typically to perform periodic monitoring or processing of input and output data.

2.3.2 Software Decomposition The Watts Bar 2 PAMS FPDS consists of executable programs and scripts that execute under the QNX operating system environment. Design documentation for many of these programs and scripts are provided in the Common Q generic FPDS documentation or Common Q platform documentation (PAMS or Core Protection Calculator System [CPCS]).

The main display application to be developed for Watts Bar 2 PAMS is called wbtpamsdisplay. This program is developed using the PhAB. This program incorporates the display screens and callback functions to provide the primary human interface of PAMS.

The following generic executables are used in the Watts Bar 2 PAMS FPDS at runtime. Design details for each of these executables are provided in 00000-ICE-30157, "Software Design Description for the Common Q Generic Flat-Panel Display Software" (Reference 9).

The OM and MTP are Class 1E qualified, touch screen FPDs used to provide control and monitoring for PAMS. The OM is located in the control room and the MTP is located in the AC160 equipment cabinet.

The OM is intended to be used by the plant operators and the MTP is intended to be used by the plant engineers or maintenance technicians.

The Watts Bar 2 PAMS FPDS display text is in the English language.

The Watts Bar 2 PAMS FPDS application-specific display configuration and source code is incorporated in the Watts Bar 2 PAMS FPDS display application executable program, which is generated using PhAB to provide the displays described in Section 5.2. Some of the display components, called widgets, which form the visual display interface with the operator, are configured to interact with application-specific and generic Common Q FPD callback procedures. All widgets used in the display applications are either generic Common Q widgets or standard Photon widgets. [

The application-specific callback procedures are described in Section 5.3.
