By letter dated March 13, 2009, Arizona Public Service Company (APS) submitted Revision 1 to Supplemental Response to NRC Generic Letter 2004-02, "Potential Impact of Debris Blockage on Emergency Recirculation During Design Basis Accidents at Pressurized-Water Reactors," for the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station (PVNGS), Units 1, 2, and 3.
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff has reviewed that response and has identified two remaining questions. as specified in the attached Request for Additional Information (RAI).
The NRC staff would like to have a conference call with APS within the next few weeks to discuss the questions, prior to the formal submittal of your responses. The purpose of the call will be to discuss possible approaches for APS to address the questions; we do not expect you to have final responses at the time of the call.
Please call me to set a convenient time and date for the call. We appreciate your help in achieving closure of this generic issue for PVNGS.
