SUBJECT:

REED COLLEGE - ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION AMENDMENT REQUEST INCORPORATED IN LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION REVIEW (TAC NO. MD1583)

Dear Mr. Frantz:

The purpose of this letter is to acknowledge our telephone conversation of August 3, 2009, in which it was agreed that the change request to amend the Reed Research Reactor Technical Specifications, submitted by letter dated June 18, 2009, could be incorporated into the ongoing review of the Reed Research Reactor License Renewal Application. This action will reduce the administrative burden on the NRC staff and, as you indicated, will not adversely affect operations at your facility.

The license renewal project manager is Mr. Francis DiMeglio, who can be contacted at (401) 826-0675 or email: Francis.Dimeglio@nrc.gov.

Feel free to contact Mr. DiMeglio or myself if you have any questions.

Sincerely

/RA/

Geoffrey A. Wertz, P.E.
