Dear Mr. Anderson:
On October 1, 2008 the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC or the staff) received FPL Energy Duane Arnold, LLCs application for renewal of operating license (Operating License No.
DPR-49) for the Duane Arnold Energy Center.
In letter dated January 23, 2009 the license renewal application (LRA) was supplemented by FPL Energy Duane Arnold, LLC to add additional information which enabled the staff to complete its acceptance review. The license renewal typical schedule is 22 months from the receipt of the application (30 months in case of a hearing). The Duane Arnold schedule reflects a delay associated with the January LRA supplement submittal and the staffs associated acceptance review. Enclosed is the revised review schedule for the Duane Arnold Energy Center LRA.
