Our buffer baskets have a combined volume of 300 cubic feet. To achieve a pH of 8.0, CCNPP would have to use more than 20,000 pounds of STB. Even at the maximum density of 56 pounds per cubic foot, CCNPP could not get that quantity of STB into the six baskets in containment. The maximum mass of STB that would fit into the 300 cubic feet available in the six baskets is about 16,800 pounds. This would give a pH of about pH = 7.8.

Clarification Needed for Sump Buffer Application Our reviewer has requested a clarification regarding the Sump buffer LAR. It's basically about clarifying what the maximium amount of STB that could be put in the baskets and is this amount of STB still within the pH 7-8 bounds of the LAR submittal.
