EDWIN I. HATCH NUCLEAR PLANT, UNIT NOS. 1 AND 2, REGARDING NOTICE OF CONSIDERATION OF ISSUANCE OF AMENDMENTS FOR ALTERNATE SOURCE TERM APPLICATION (TAC NOS. MD2934 AND MD2935)
Dear Mr. Madison:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has forwarded the enclosed Notice of Consideration of Issuance of Amendments to Facility Operating Licenses, Proposed No Significant Hazards Consideration Determination, and Opportunity for a Hearing to the Office of the Federal Register for publication.
This notice relates to your application dated August 29, 2006, as supplemented on November 6, November 27, 2006, January 30, June 22, July 16, August 13, October 18, December 11, 2007, January 24, February 4, February 25 (two letters, nos. 1389 and 0175), February 27, March 13, April 1, May 5, June 25, July 2, and July 14, 2008. The proposed amendment would approve a revised licensing and design basis for analysis of certain design basis accidents and would extend the required dates for implementation of such revised licensing and design basis by modifying license condition 2.C of the Edwin I. Hatch Nuclear Plant, Unit Nos. 1 and 2, Operating Licenses.
