3) PLA-62 71, Mr. B. T. McKinney (PPL)to Document ControlDesk (USNRC),"

Annual Amendment to the Applicationfor Renewed OperatingLicense Numbers NPF-14 and NPF-22 Pursuantto 10 CFR 54.21(b), "dated September 12, 2007.

In accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR 50, 51, and 54, PPL requested the renewal of the operating licenses for the Susquehanna Steam Electric Station (SSES)

Units 1 and 2 in Reference 1.

On January 30, 2008, the NRC approved the SSES Extended Power Uprate (EPU),

documented in Reference 2 as Unit 1 License Amendment 246 and Unit 2 License Amendment 224.

Our review of the EPU Safety Evaluation Report (SER) concluded that there are no impacts to the SSES License Renewal Application (LRA) as a result of EPU approval.

The LRA, Section 1.2, states that the evaluations which support the SSES LRA were performed at the conditions that support the EPU power level of 3952 megawatts thermal.

However, the attachment to this letter contains a revision to LRA Table 2.2-3 which describes a new steam dryer storage facility constructed on the SSES site. This facility was completed after we submitted the LRA annual update in Reference 3. This facility has been determined to be "Not In Scope" for License Renewal.

There are no new regulatory commitments contained herein as a result of this response.
