Vernon is a rural community located in the south east corner of Vermont, bordering New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Located 90 miles northwest of Boston, Vernon is accessible from Brattleboro by way of Route 142 south and Northfield, Ma by way of Route 142 north. The town is known highly for hosting the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Plant. Aside from that, Vernon is a quite bedroom community with friendly, good natured people. The town is also situated along the picturesque Connecticut river. Within 35 miles from various ski areas, Vernon is "Vermont's Gateway". The Vernon Volunteer Fire Department is a non-profit, volunteer fire department, which responds to both fire and EMS calls since 1954.

Message From the Chief The Vernon Volunteer Fire Company (VVFC) would like to welcome you to our home. Vernon is a small community in the south eastern end of Vermont bordered by Massachusetts and New Hampshire and host's the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power station. We are a bedroom community to nearby Brattleboro, VT, Keene, NH, and Greenfield, MA.

The members of the company pride themselves on dedication to the community. Training is our priority here. We want to do our best on all calls.

We are part of the "Support Our Soldiers" group. We sell yellow ribbons and with the money made from these sales we send boxes of needed items to our soldiers abroad.
