ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF REQUEST FOR ACCEPTANCE OF PHASE II LAND AREA FINAL STATUS SURVEY REPORTS FOR THE HADDAM NECK PLANT

Dear Mr. Norton:

The NRC staff has received your request dated March 8, 2005, CY-05-025, for the Haddam Neck Plant (HNP). Your letter requests NRC acceptance of Final Status Survey Reports (FSSR) for Phase II land areas of the HNP.

We have completed the initial processing, which is an administrative review, and have accepted your request for a more detailed technical review. The more detailed technical review may identify omissions in the submitted information or technical issues that will result in a Request for Additional Information (RAI). If required, these will be forwarded to you under separate cover. The staff expects to complete its review by July, 2005. This schedule assumes no RAIs are required.

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRCs Rules of Practice, a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRCs Agencywide Document Access Management System (ADAMS). ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web site:
