Adoption of Amendment 8 of NAC-MPC Certificate of Compliance No. 72-1025 and Canister Registration In Reference 1, Connecticut Yankee Atomic Power Company (CYAPCO) notified the U.S.

Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) that the 40 NAC-MPC canisters storing spent nuclear fuel at the Haddam N eek Plant (HNP) Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI) in Haddam N eek, Connecticut would be registered to Amendment 5 of the NAC-MPC System Certificate of Compliance No. 72-1025.

In accordance with 10 CFR 72.212(b)(2) and 10 CFR 72.4, CYAPCO is notifying the NRC that those canisters will now be registered to Amendment 8 of the NAC-MPC System Certificate of Compliance No. 72-1025, including any applicable exemptions (Attachment 1).

This change was effective on November 18, 2021.

The NRC previously granted CYAPCO an exemption from Amendment 8 to the NAC-MPC System Certificate of Compliance No. 72.1025, Appendix A, TS A 5.1 that was granted by the NRC in Reference 2. In addition, Revision 12 of the NAC-MPC System Final Safety Analysis Report will be the revision applicable to the HNP ISFSI. These adoptions are documented in Revision 15 to the Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation 10 CFR 72.212 Evaluation, dated November 2021.
