GRAND GULF NUCLEAR STATION, UNIT 1 - RE: DRAFT SAFETY EVALUATION FOR PROPOSED 1.7 PERCENT INCREASE IN LICENSED POWER LEVEL (TAC NO. MB3972)
Dear Mr. Eaton:
We have reviewed the application from Grand Gulf Nuclear Station, Unit 1 (GGNS) dated January 31, 2002, as supplemented by letters dated June 12, June 25, and July 22, 2002. The proposed amendment would increase the licensed power level by approximately 1.7 percent from 3,833 megawatts thermal (Mwt) to 3,898 Mwt. These changes would result from increased feedwater flow measurement accuracy to be achieved by utilizing high accuracy ultrasonic flow measurement instrumentation.
Enclosed is a draft safety evaluation (SE) for GGNS. This draft SE is being withheld from public disclosure at this time because it may contain proprietary information.
We are providing this draft SE for the purpose of identifying if it contains any proprietary information pursuant to Section 2.790 of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations. Please provide any comments that you may have on the enclosed draft SE with regard to the inclusion of proprietary information by September 9, 2002.
