Perry Nuclear Power Plant Docket No. 50-440, License No. NPF-58 Readiness for NRG Supplemental Inspection Required for a Greater than Green Finding On June 5, 2017, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRG) issued Inspection Report 05000440/2017009 and a Preliminary White Finding to the Perry Nuclear Power Plant (PNPP). This Inspection Report contained a Preliminary White Finding and Apparent Violation 05000440/2017009-01 "Unsuitable Application of Surge Suppression Diodes in Standby Diesel Generator Control Power Circuitry."

On August 24, 2017, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRG) issued Inspection Report 05000440/2017010 with the final significance determination of the white finding and a notice of violation. This letter also documented the NRC's assessment that the performance of the PNPP to be in the Regulatory Response Column of the Reactor Oversight Process Action Matrix, and that a supplemental NRG inspection will be performed. This letter is to inform the NRG staff that FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company (FENOC) is ready for the supplemental inspection at the PNPP.
