FENOC' FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company David B. Hamilton Vice President August 21, 201 7 L-17-279 A TIN: Document Control Desk U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, DC 20555-0001
SUBJECT:
Perry Nuclear Power Plant Docket No. 50-440, License No. NPF-58 Perry Nuclear Power Plant P O Box 97 10 Center Road Perry, Ohio 44081 440-280-5382 10 CFR 50.55a Supplement to a Proposed Alternative to Use ASME Code Case N-513-4 By letter dated August 20, 2017, FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company (FENOC) submitted a request to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) for approval to use ASME Code Case N-513-4, "Evaluation Criteria for Temporary Acceptance of Flaws in Moderate Energy Class 2 or 3 Piping,Section XI, Division 1," with limits on leakage and temporary acceptance of flaws in moderate energy ASME Code Class 3 piping in lieu of the ASME Code,Section XI, requirements in paragraph IWD-3120(b) and article IWD-3400.
After the request was submitted, FENOC identified that the date for the 17th refueling outage was stated as March 2018 instead of March 2019. This submittal, therefore, corrects that date.
There are no regulatory commitments contained in this submittal. If there are any questions or if additional information is required, please contact Mr. Thomas A. Lentz, Manager - Fleet Licensing, at (330) 315-6810.
Sincerely, David B. Hamilton cc:
