, Containment (Structural Concrete) - Review of Quality Assurance Implementing Procedures, Units 1 and 2 The inspector performed a follow-on examination of procedures concerning control of structural concrete. Acceptance criteria examined by the inspector are in Section 3.8 of the PSAR and TVA Topical Reports TR75-1A, R1. Controlling procedures and speci-fications examined by the inspector are: G-2, TVA Specification, Plain and Reinforced Concrete QCI-C-201 through QCI-C-214, QCI-C-401 and 402 QCEP 7.02, 9.01, 12.01, 15.01 and 17.01 Quality Assurance Records Index No deviations or items of noncompliance were disclosed within the areas examine . Lakes, Dams and Canals, Review of Quality Assurance Implementing Procedures, Units 1 and 2 The inspector performed a follow-on examination of quality assurance controls for Units 1 and 2 spray ponds. Acceptance criteria examined by the inspector are in Sections 2.5.4 and 3.8.4 of the PSAR and TVA Topical Report TR75-1A, R In addition to the controlling procedures, drawings and specifications listed in paragraphs 5 and 6, the inspector examined certification records of soils and concrete inspectors and drawing number 8Y0252-Y1-01, Excavation and Backfill Below Elevation 520 for Spray Pond No deviations or itees of noncompliance were disclosed within the areas examine . Site Preparation - Observation of Work and Work Activities, Units 1 and 2 The inspector compared the site topography with that presented in the SAR and observed work activities and results of work activities for excavation of Units I and 2 powerhouse blocks. Acceptance criteria examined by the inspector are listed in paragraph 5.

Nos. 50-566/78-05 and 50-567/78-05 1-4 Observations included examination of sideslopes and current excavation grade at top of rock for deviations or unusual problems, drilling of holes for blasting and soil sampling, preliminary mapping and photographic records of excavation Dewatering is being controlled by ditches and sumps. The piezometric surface and chemical characteristics of the groundwater are observed through a network of 10 observation wells examined by the inspector. Discussions with responsible TVA personnel indicated groundwater samples are collected by Data Services Branch, analyzed by the Water Quality and Ecology Branch and the results and use of the data coordinated by the Geological Service Branc No deviations of items of noncompliance were disclosed within the areas examine . Exit Interview The inspector met with the licensee representatives listed in paragraph 1 at the conclusion of the inspection on July 26, 1978. The licensee was apprised of the scope of the findings of the inspection which included construction status; coordina-tion of blasting; QA/QC controls for site preparation, spray ponds and structural concrete; and work performance on site preparation. No de/iations or items of noncompliance were disclosed.
