ENCLOSURE SUMMARY OF TELEPHONE CONVERSAT(ON ON SEPTEMBER 17, 1992 ENCLOSURE SUMMARY OF TELEPHONE CONVERSATION ON SEPTEMBER 17, 1992 The following is a summary of and clarification to the information provided to the NRC during a telephone conversation between D.Corporandy, NRC, and T.R.Bradish, Arizona Public Service Company (APS), on September 17, 1992.This information, regarding the timeliness for evaluating motor-operated valve dynamic test data, was provided in response to the letter dated August 27, 1992, from L.T.Miller Jr., NRC, to W.F.Conway, APS.APS will calculate the acceptance criteria and review the test data against the acceptance criteria within 7 days of completion of the test work order for valves tested in MODEs 1'hrough 4.The comparison of the test data against the calculated acceptance criteria will be completed no more than 7 days following MODE 4 entry for valves tested in MODEs 5 and 6.Where the test data results are outside the acceptance criteria, then the condition will be addressed using the PVNGS condition reporting program. The dynamic test performed may not be the design bases test.Because of this, the acceptance criteria will only be developed to the extent that they apply to the test performed.

For example, the acceptance criteria for a hydro-pump test for a gate valve may be different'than a design bases test which includes flow. The new procedure, containing the evaluation process and the time frames for evaluating the test data, will be issued by October 21, 1992.The results of dynamic tests performed prior to issuance of the new procedure will be reviewed using the new procedure.

These reviews will be completed within six months of the issuance of the procedure.
