Areas Inspected: Routine unannounced inspection of Construction Permit Environmental Requirements including aquatic chemical and biological monitoring; onsite meteorological measurements; river flow monitoring. The inspection involved 12 inspector-hours on site by one NRC inspector.

Results: No items of noncompliance or deviations were disclosed.

Prepperational Monitoring and Surveillance Program Environmental protection requirements are defined in Section 2.D of the Construction Permit CPPR-86.

Program requirements included comprehensive aquatic chemical, biological, and thermal monitoring for ultimate use in determining changes which may occur in terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems as a result of plant operation. The program also included:

(1) onsite meteorological monitoring at least one year prior to commencement of facility operation; (2) continuous monitoring and recording of flow conditions in the Chattahoochee River in the vicinity of the facility. All of the above requirements were completed,

These monitoring and surveillance parameters, however, have been included in Sections 3.0 and 4.0 of Appendix B to Unit 1 facility license NPF-2.

Exit Interview The inspector met with licensee representatives (denoted in paragraph 1)

at the conclusion of the inspection on August 25, 1978. The scope of the inspection was summarized and all findings listed herein were discussed.
