UPDATED INSPECTION PLAN FOR JOSEPH M. FARLEY NUCLEAR PLANT, UNITS 1 AND 2 - REPORT 05000348/2025005 AND 05000364/2025005
Dear Jamie Coleman:
The enclosed inspection plan lists the inspections scheduled through June 30, 2027, for Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2. The NRC provides the inspection plan to allow for the resolution of any scheduling conflicts and personnel availability issues. Routine inspections performed by resident inspectors are not included in the inspection plan. As discussed in SECY-25-0045, Recommendations for Revising the Reactor Oversight Process, dated June 5, 2025 (ADAMS Accession Number ML25042A278), the NRC determined that a broad, comprehensive review of the ROP is necessary to reflect improvements in industry performance and advancements in technology. The outcome of the comprehensive review and recommendations to revise the ROP baseline inspection program, when approved by the NRC Commission, will require a revision to this inspection plan. The NRC will contact you as soon as possible to discuss any revisions after the new baseline inspection program is implemented.
As noted in the enclosed inspection plan, in addition to the baseline inspections the NRC will conduct Inspection Procedure 71003, Post-Approval Site Inspection for License Renewal, at your facility in August 2026.
In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) 2.390 of the NRCs Rules of Practice, a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRC's document system (ADAMS). ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html (the Public Electronic Reading Room).
