Routine, unannounced inspection of inservice inspection activi-ties.
The inspection involved 16 inspector-hours onsite by one NRC inspector.

Inservice Inspection Activities The inspector audited the licensee's 10 year plan for inservice examination at Calvert Cliffs Unit 2.
This plan covers the 10 year interval from 4-1-77 until 4-1-87.
The licensee is presently in the first inservice examination period ending 8-1-80.
The inspector considered the above item with regard to 10 CFR 50.55a(g)
and the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code,Section XI.
1974 Edition, including the Summer 1975 Addenda and Calvert Cliffs Unit 2 Technical Specification 4.3.
The inspector audited the program to ascertain compliance in the following areas with the ASME Section XI Code.
Description of areas to be examined, the method of examinations

and extent of examinations are specified and consistent with requirements.
The intervals of inspection are specified and consistent with

licensee's commitments.
Justification for exceptions to codes and standards.

10 CFR 50.55a(g)(5)(iii) states:
"If the license has determined that conformance with certain code requirements is impractical for his facility, the licensee shall notify the Commission and submit infor-mation to support his determinations."
It has been determined by the licensee that certain exemptions will be necessary during the 10 year inspection interval.
The licensee is presently documenting these exemptions and will submit to NRR for disposition as allowed by 10 CFR 50.55a(g)(6)(1).
This item is unresolved pending submittal of these exemptions.
