PILGRIM NUCLEAR POWER STATION - NRC INSPECTION REPORT 05000293/2010007

Dear Mr. Bronson:

On July 26-27, 2010, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) completed an inspection of your Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station (PNPS). The enclosed report documents the inspectors observations and results, which were discussed via teleconference on September 16, 2010, with Mr. Steve Bethay and other members of your staff.

The inspection examined activities conducted under your license as they relate to the condition of a vehicle used within the Protected Area of the station. Specifically, the inspection reviewed the adequacy of Entergys investigation into issues related to the availability of this vehicle and Entergys follow-up corrective actions. The inspection reviewed your staffs compliance with the Commissions rules and regulations, and with the conditions of your operating license. Within these areas, the inspection involved examination of selected procedures and records, plant walk downs, and interviews with station personnel.

Based upon the results of this inspection, no violations of regulatory requirements were identified. However, as detailed in the enclosed report, the inspector made a number of observations regarding Entergys actions to address the condition of the subject vehicle and associated equipment. Based upon the sensitive information contained in the enclosure, and in accordance with 10 CFR 2.390, a copy of this letters enclosure will not be available for public inspection.
