NRC INSPECTION OF DIABLO CANYON NUCLEAR POWER PLANT (DCPP)
This refers to the routine inspection conducted by Mr.
C.
A. Clark of this office on February 8 through February 22, 1988, of activities authorized by NRC License Nos.
DPR-80 and DPR-82, and to the discussions of our findings held by Mr. Clark with members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the enclosed inspection report.
Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspector.
Based on the results of this inspection, it appears that two of your activities were not conducted in full compliance with the NRC requirements, as set forth in the Notice of Violation, enclosed herewith as Appendix A.
Your response to this notice is to be submitted in accordance with the provisions of 10 CFR 2.201, as stated in the Notice of Violation.
In addition to the two violations identified in this report, we direct your attention to the discussions in paragraph 2.d.
on procedure compliance and fulfillment of a commitment to the NRC.
These two areas appear to require additional management attention.
